BIO
Hello! My name is Kelly Foster. I have been passionate about helping others for as long as I can remember. I tend to notice the people who don’t fit in and who don’t have powerful voices. However, my experiences have allowed me to empathize with a diverse range of people. I consider myself to be a person-centered, personable, strengths-based therapist. I love encouraging my clients while sometimes challenging them to think outside the box and grow!
I am one of only a handful of therapists in Minnesota trained in a newer type of therapy, Radically Open Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (RO-DBT), which treats disorders of “over-control.” I am specifically interested in working with neurodivergence, trauma, teens, and young adults. I enjoy building client relationships while adding humor, creativity, and play. I also offer faith-based counseling to those who are interested!
In my free time, I like to spend time with my family and in nature: hiking, biking, kayaking, fishing, and swimming! I love animals and have two Siberian Husky dogs, one of which may join me in the office from time to time.
